I have been getting many e-mails about pure breed crosses
being specifically breed. There may be official organisation relating to these
breeds in other countries. The main reason people want these crossbreeds is
for their allergy to dog hairs, the Poodle and most of the crossbreeds do not
seem to aggravate those with allergies to animal hair. Another problem is
that without any sort of body looking after these breed there has been a tendency
for less reputable dog breeders to move in to this area. This is my opinion
and is a generally how I would respond to an e-mail requesting information on
these cross breeds.

are allergic, or hypersensitive to your dog. Allergies to animals are common,
for immune systems are very sensitive to foreign animal proteins. Different
breeds of dogs have different proteins, so you may only be allergic to the particular
breed of dog you have now, or you can be sensitive to all dogs. Since most
allergens from a dog are from the flakes of skin and hair, frequently bathing
your dog may help decrease your reactions. Allergies develop after repeated
exposer to a specific allergen, and may take years to manifest itself. I commonly
hear of people having cats or dogs for many years, only to develop allergies later
in life.

Avoiding allergens is extremely important when caring for the allergic pet.
While you can't keep your dog away from every allergen in this environment, you
need to remove the allergens he has contact with as quickly as possible. When
you can remove these allergens, you decrease the exposure to the trigger that
causes the dog to itch. When he itches less, he scratches less. Even pets
on high doses of corticosteroids need frequent bathing and conditioning to remove
the things from their bodies that cause itching.

There are a number of infectious diseases which
dogs can pass on to humans, so you do need to be aware of this risk, although
I suspect most dog owners would tell you that this risk pales into insignificance
next to the benefits of having a dog as a companion. Hydatid disease, which
can cause infections in the liver, lungs and brain, is mostly a problem in sheep
farming areas. All content within BBCi HEALTH is provided for general information

good dog for allergy sufferer - Auspet - Message Boards http://www.auspet.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000615.html
allergies, dog, breeds, fur, dander, poodle, allergy suffers, golden
retriever, saliva, individual dog, Posts, Member, hasnt, malte poo, luck, flare,
dog lick. Can someone recommend a good dog for
people with mild dog allergies? Hi Dogged, it really comes down to the individual
dog and the severity of the persons allergies. Allergies aren't so much related
to certain breeds but will be dog or even litter specific of any breed. It
is a myth that poodles are a non allergic breed that doesnt shed fur or dander,
but because poodle fur is curly it gets bound together moreso than golden retrievers
fur, so very curly haired breeds may be less irritating for some people. Go
to www.akc.com and you will find a list of dogs that 'generally' are good for
allergy suffers.

Allergic to Dogs?

board, archives, asthma, animals, allergy sufferers, mild, environmental controls,
house, bedrooms, breeder. I have been a dog lover
all my life, but I am also asthmatic and have a lot of allergies. Luckily,
I have discovered that I can tolerate hairless dog breeds better than coated ones,
and the American Hairless Terrier with its soft skin seems to be the most suitable
dog breed for me. There is no dog breed that is truly non-allergenic (not
allergy causing) because all dogs produce dander (shed skin cells), saliva, and
urine that people can be allergic to. You will find links to these breeds
and pages where allergies are discussed, plus some additional information.

The major allergen, or trigger, is a protein from the dog pelt. Do you get
a runny nose and/or watery eyes or a skin reaction such as a rash or develop an
Asthma attack? Then you may be suffering from allergy to dogs! An Allergist
can tell you if you have Dog Allergy, what it is, why you have it, how you can
be tested for it, what you can do about it, the best treatment, whether you should
be desensitised, the best medication to use, the best place to seek treatment
and whether you can get a cure for Dog Allergy.

animals leave allergens such as dander, hair, feathers, or skin in the air that
activate your dog allergy. The remedy to this is to keep pets outdoors as
often as possible.
