Dog Club, Poodle and other pure breed crosses

I have been getting many e-mails about pure breed crosses being specifically breed.
There may be official organisation relating to these breeds in other countries.
The main reason people want these crossbreeds is for their allergy to dog hairs, the Poodle and most of the crossbreeds do not seem to aggravate those with allergies to animal hair.
Another problem is that without any sort of body looking after these breed there has been a tendency for less reputable dog breeders to move in to this area.
This is my opinion and is a generally how I would respond to an e-mail requesting information on these cross breeds.

It sounds as though you are allergic, or hypersensitive to your dog.
Allergies to animals are common, for immune systems are very sensitive to foreign animal proteins.
Different breeds of dogs have different proteins, so you may only be allergic to the particular breed of dog you have now, or you can be sensitive to all dogs.
Since most allergens from a dog are from the flakes of skin and hair, frequently bathing your dog may help decrease your reactions.
Allergies develop after repeated exposer to a specific allergen, and may take years to manifest itself.
I commonly hear of people having cats or dogs for many years, only to develop allergies later in life.

Hi Dogged, it really comes down to the individual dog and the severity of the persons allergies.
Allergies aren't so much related to certain breeds but will be dog or even litter specific of any breed.
It is a myth that poodles are a non allergic breed that doesnt shed fur or dander, but because poodle fur is curly it gets bound together moreso than golden retrievers fur, so very curly haired breeds may be less irritating for some people.
Go to www.akc.com and you will find a list of dogs that 'generally' are good for allergy suffers.

I have been a dog lover all my life, but I am also asthmatic and have a lot of allergies.
Luckily, I have discovered that I can tolerate hairless dog breeds better than coated ones, and the American Hairless Terrier with its soft skin seems to be the most suitable dog breed for me.
There is no dog breed that is truly non-allergenic (not allergy causing) because all dogs produce dander (shed skin cells), saliva, and urine that people can be allergic to.
