genital warts, skin, HPV, virus, infection, Pap smear, lumps, condoms, risk, viruses,
cervix. Genital warts are small lumps that may grow
on the genitals in men or women.
These viruses all belong to the family
called human papilloma viruses (HPV).
This large family has more than
100 different members, which prefer different types of skin.
For example,
warts that grow on hands or feet are unlikely to grow on genital skin.
Many other types never cause visible warts and can only be detected on a Pap smear,
or by special microscope or laboratory tests.
The HPV virus is usually
passed on during sexual activity.
Sometimes the virus may just remain
in the skin and be invisible (this is called sub-clinical infection).

blisters, cold sores. Your skin is your body's largest
organ.
There is no evidence that getting a tan will protect your skin
in any way.
The wavelengths of light used will burn your skin just as
readily as the sun.
If you notice signs of infection, such as redness,
pus or a rash, see your health care provider.
Warts are noncancerous growths
on the top layer of skin.
Color variation---There are different shades
within the mole (tan, brown, black; sometimes red, blue or white).
Often
people are aware they are getting a cold sore because of a burning or stinging
sensation in the area.
