Effects:
Loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhea or blurred vision may occur at first as your
body adjusts to the medication.
Inform your doctor if you experience unusual
bleeding or bruising, blood in the urine, black stools or severe headache. May
cause urine to turn orange-red in color. This is not harmful and will disappear
when the medication is stopped. In the unlikely event you have an allergic
reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of
an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing.
Precautions:
Before using this drug tell your doctor your medical history especially of ulcers,
unusual menstrual periods, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure,
arthritis, thyroid problems, all recent infections, if you have had recent surgery
and of drug and food allergies.
The FDA has stated that certain generic
warfarin products are interchangeable. However, consult your doctor and
pharmacist before switching warfarin products. Do not stop taking any medications
that you are currently taking unless directed to do so by your doctor. If
you have an illness that causes vomiting, diarrhea, or fever for more than a few
days, contact your doctor as these problems can change the effect of this drug.
Limit your consumption of alcoholic beverages. Ask your doctor how
much, if any, alcohol you may consume. In the event of an accidental overdose
of this drug, contact your doctor, poison control center, or nearest hospital
emergency department immediately. When receiving warfarin, avoid sudden
changes in dietary habits. Avoid ingesting unusual increases or decreases
of foods high in Vitamin K (liver, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, spinach
and other green leafy vegetables, green tea, certain vegetables, cheeses and certain
vitamin supplements). It is best to avoid strictly vegetarian diets that
consist of foods high in vitamin K. While taking this medication, be extra
careful to avoid injuries. This medication can cause heavy bleeding. Use
an electric razor and be careful brushing your teeth. Warfarin should not
be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant,
inform your doctor immediately. This drug is excreted into breast milk.
While to date, no problems have been noted in nursing infants, consult your doctor
before you breast-feed. For information on Medic Alert(TM) call 1-800-854-1166.

WELLBUTRIN, dose, tablets, depression, bupropion, patients, immediate-release
formulation, treatment, administration, seizure, mg/day.
DESCRIPTION: WELLBUTRIN SR (bupropion hydrochloride), an antidepressant of the
aminoketone class, is chemically unrelated to tricyclic, tetracyclic, selective
serotonin re-uptake inhibitor, or other known antidepressant agents.
Three
metabolites have been shown to be active: hydroxybupropion, which is formed via
hydroxylation of the tert-butyl group of bupropion, and the amino-alcohol isomers
threohydrobupropion and erythrohydrobupropion, which are formed via reduction
of the carbonyl group.
No single dose should exceed 200 mg to avoid high
peak concentrations of bupropion and/or its metabolites.
General: Agitation
and Insomnia: Patients in placebo-controlled trials with WELLBUTRIN SR Tablets
experienced agitation, anxiety, and insomnia as shown in Table 1.

depression, antidepressant, bupropion, patients, therapy, pharmacists, drug, disorders,
medications, treatment, health care. Depression is a
leading cause of morbidity in the United States and by 2020 will be the second
leading cause of worldwide health care morbidity.1 Approximately 16% of the population
will suffer from a significant depressive episode in their lifetime and have an
impaired quality of life.2 Despite recent advances in the treatment of depression,
antidepressant therapy is associated with frequent, sometimes severe adverse effects
and barriers to adherence.
Bupropion is a first-line agent for treating
depression according to the American Psychiatric Association and has the advantage
of few significant side effects and limited adverse effects on sexual functioning.3
In fact, bupropion has been shown to be effective as an augmenting agent to selective
serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and to decrease sexual dysfunction associated
with SSRIs when used as add-on therapy.4 A recently approved extended-release
formulation of bupropion provides patients with an efficacious antidepressant
with convenient once-daily dosing.

As findings from post-market spontaneous reports regarding agitation type events
apply to ZYBAN® as well as WELLBUTRIN® SR, the following Class warning
is therefore being incorporated into the labelling of both products.
Please
note that neither WELLBUTRIN® SR nor ZYBAN® have been fully evaluated
in pediatrics, and these products are not indicated for use in patients less than
18 years of age.
There are clinical trial and post-marketing reports with
SSRIs and other newer anti-depressants, in both pediatrics and adults, of severe
agitation-type adverse events coupled with self-harm or harm to others.
Rigorous clinical monitoring for suicidal ideation or other indicators of potential
for suicidal behaviour is advised in patients of all ages given an anti-depressant
drug.
